Method of Action, the people who brought us the Kern type game, have also launched Shape Type, an HTML5 game where you manipulate the bézier curves of letters from famous typefaces, to achieve perfect matching letterforms.
The game by Mark MacKay is well crafted and there’s a way to preview your effort by viewing the shape without the bézier handles and tweet your score.
These translate in Japanese to aspect of their ‘personalities.’ Blinky, the red ghost, has a personality of “oikake,” meaning “chaser.” Pinky, the pink ghost, has a personality called “machibuse,” which means “ambusher,” Inky the cyan ghost has been dubbed “kimagure,” which translates to “fickle,” and Clyde the orange ghost is classified as “otoboke,” meaning stupid.
